The Selva Verde Lodge & Rainforest Reserve is nestled in the lowland tropical rainforest of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, along the Sarapiqui River. Known for being the pioneer of the eco-tourism movement, it boasts an amazing 500 acres of critical rainforest reserve and features a suspension bridge connecting the eco-lodge to the rainforest reserve, a gateway into a world of towering Almendro trees, Howler Monkeys, and Keel Billed Toucans. Guests immerse themselves in tropical nature while hiking through deep green forest or reflect quietly in a comfortable hammock. The abundant biodiversity, comfortable rainforest lodge, and exciting activities are ideal for adventure seekers, bird and wildlife watchers as well as other nature lovers. This river lodge features 40 well-appointed, comfortable guest rooms, 7 secluded bungalows, and a Casona Rainforest Suite tucked into the tropical gardens and rainforest on elevated wooden platforms. The thatched walkways allow guests to stroll and observe wildlife while staying dry during the rains. The restaurant and bar are located near the river, a wonderful spot for guests to enjoy delicious local meals. An inviting pool near the dining room area awaits guests looking for a cool place to relax and cool down after an adventurous day of rainforest exploration.
